Matt Beatty was born in Calgary and has been performing professionally for the last 20 years. Over that time Matt has developed into one of the country's most diverse artists. Matt is a talented vocalist who plays great guitar but also performs as a drummer and a bassist.
Matt has recently released two singles “Never Enough Time” & “The Beasts Would Surely Win”. There will be another song released in the next few weeks!
Matt's "Outlaw Country/Rockabilly" group DoubleSuede released two singles "Black Widow" and "Dive Bar Debutante" with the EP "The deEP End" released mid January 2023. DoubleSuede was up for Group of the Year at the 2023 YYC Music Awards.
Rockabilly
Matt Beatty has performed all over western Canada in honkytonks, bars and world class resorts such as The Fairmont Banff Springs Hotel. Matt has also played across Canada, literally. This includes playing on the Via Rail train over a 4 day cross Canada trip as well as stand alone shows in Toronto, Ottawa, Hamilton and Quebec City. Matt also takes great pride in his history of playing outside Canada for events such as Canada Day in Vladivostok Russia, or at resorts in the Dominican Republic and Mexico. Matts favorite gig memory is at the leg Matt has been seen through many different media formats such as Global TV, The Calgary Herald and Sun. Not to mention a front page spread in the Star Phoenix (Saskatoon) plus recent banner spreads in the Montreal Gazette, Edmonton Sun and Vancouver Province.
