The Okotoks Museum & Archives hosts a new exhibits, Piikanikoan - Living Under a Blackfoot Sky - A Modern Winter Count, which opens Sept. 3 and runs until Sept. 30. Piikanikoan invites audiences to explore Blackfoot (Niitsitapi) cultural heritage through a combination of art, stories and songs. Through the lens of his own musical journey, Piikani Nation member Ira Provost delves into the significance of Blackfoot music, its origins and its influence on his life story.
This travelling exhibit is curated by Ira Provost and created by Galt Museum & Archives, Lethbridge.
